NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING 05.31.19 9:25 am

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING REGARDING PROPOSED ELIMINATION OF Y SHUTTLE BETWEEN WOODLAND, DAVIS, WEST SACRAMENTO, AND DOWNTOWN SACRAMENTO FOR LARGE EVENTS AT OR NEAR THE GOLDEN ONE CENTER

At 7:00 p.m., on Monday June 10, 2019, the Yolo County Transportation District (YCTD) Board of Directors will conduct a public hearing regarding the proposed elimination of the Y Shuttle that operates up to 86 days a year, transporting Woodland, Davis and West Sacramento travelers to and from the Golden One Center and neighboring area for events in downtown Sacramento that involve 10,000 or more attendees.  The hearing will take place at the YCTD Board Meeting Room, 350 Industrial Way, Woodland, CA, 95776.  It is proposed that Y Shuttle service be eliminated effective July 1, 2019.

In recent months, YCTD’s request to program Sacramento Large urban Federal Transit Administration Section 5307 funds for continuation of the Y Shuttle was not approved.  The grant request was for $111,338 in federal funds, which would have funded half the cost (after fares) of the Y shuttle for two years, subject to an equal total match coming from the Cities of West Sacramento, Davis, and Woodland.

Those wishing to provide input regarding the proposed elimination of the Y Shuttle may wish to attend the public hearing.  Those who cannot attend may write to YCTD with their suggestions and comments. Written comments should be received by YCTD, 350 Industrial Way, Woodland, CA 95776 or emailed to jperez@yctd.org no later than 3:00 p.m. Monday June 10, 2019 in order to be reproduced and submitted to the board of directors for consideration.  Additionally, comments may be made presented at the public hearing or submitted by phone call to YCTD at (530) 402-2826.
