WOODLAND, Calif. – The State of California has announced a new limited stay at home order, effective for all counties under the Tier One (Purple) COVID-19 category, which includes Yolo and Sacramento Counties.  This order covers 10 pm-5 am and is effective on Saturday, November 21st through Monday morning, December 21st.  The intent is to limit travel during these hours to essential workers, and for essential purposes, such as trips for groceries, medicines,  and other essential needs.

The Yolo County Transportation District (YCTD) has announced that the current Yolobus public bus service levels will continue to operate.   Service already runs at a reduced level between 10 pm and 5 am and is generally restricted to Yolobus routes 215, 42A and 42B.  Under the new limited stay at home order, Yolobus currently does not have plans to reduce service any further than what already exists.

According to the California Department of Public Health, the State’s  “Limited Stay at Home Order will reduce opportunities for disease transmission with the goal of decreasing the number of hours individuals are in the community and mixing with individuals outside of their household.”

Since late March, Yolobus service levels were modified three times  because of COVID-19 to help address changes in available drivers and reduced demand, both due to COVID-19, as well as to help ensure the health and safety of its customers and employees. Services currently being operated are in place to help our customers continue to make their essential trips and travel. All Yolobus services feature enhanced health and safety features, including required face coverings for all travel, driver barriers, and hand sanitizer dispensers on every bus.

YCTD is not anticipating further reductions in available Yolobus transit services at this time, though there may be a need to make modifications and adapt to future health and safety orders. For additional information on services currently operating, customers should visit: https://www.yolobus.com/covid-19/ or call Yolobus at (530) 666-2877.
