I like working with the people of Yolo County. I am proud of our employees at the district. They work hard at being sensitive and responsive to the public whom we serve.
I am proud of the fact that we have significantly added transit services in parts of Yolo County without significantly increasing the local costs to the jurisdictions. I am pleased that we were one of the first leaders in the entire state of California to pursue alternative fueled vehicles (dating back to the early 90's). I am also proud of the expansion of Yolobus route 42 which serves Yolo County, downtown Sacramento, and Sacramento International Airport. I am also enjoying seeing the success of the Cache Creek bus (route 215), as well as our added service for Sacramento Rivercats games. My staff and I are glad to work with the Cities of Winters, Davis, West Sacramento, and Woodland, as well as the Yolo County Board of Supervisors, in finding ways to better serve the public with out transit services.
The public should also be aware that the Yolo County Transportation District works with all of the cities, the county, Caltrans, and UC Davis and Unitrans, in providing planning and funding coordination for various road and bicycle projects, as well as transit projects.
